Torrance wins third consecutive state title
Senior Jenny Shin shot a one-under-par 71 on Thursday at Poppy Hills Golf Course in Pebble Beach to help the Torrance girls' golf team win a third consecutive state title with an eight-stroke victory over Torrey Pines.

LBSU W. Golf: Hawaii 6-0
The Long Beach State women's golf carded a seven-over par 295 in Tuesday's second round of the Turtle Bay Intercollegiate to finish in sixth place. Playing at the par-72, 6,261 yard George Fazio Course at the Turtle Bay Resort in Kahuku, Hawaii, the 49ers improved by one-stroke to have a two-day score of 591 (+15).

Women's golf ends fall season
The WSU women’s golf team finished its fall season in Onion Creek, Texas, with a 16th-place team finish and a final team score of 882(+42) in the Challenge at Onion Creek.
The highest Cougar finisher in the tournament was freshman Ali Thompson, who continues to lead the Cougars in her first year at WSU. Thompson finished with a score of 214(+4), which earned her a tie for 15th place. Thompson shot rounds of 70(E), 69(-1) and 75(+5).

Golf more than a game
I t's a good thing that Doug Barron's best finish on the PGA Tour was only a tie for third. Otherwise, his suspension this week for use of a performing-enhancing substance would likely send thousands of wanna-be pros, medium handicappers and even incorrigible duffers scurrying to the Internet for clues to the latest in golf paraphernalia.

RTO moves to July opposite ACC, British Open
The American Century Championship celebrity golf tournament has new competition and is not happy about it.
The RTO, which has been held in August at Montreux Golf & Country Club since its inception in 1999, has been moved by the PGA Tour to mid-July starting in 2010 where it will take the week vacated by Milwaukee's U.S. Bank Championship, which folded on Oct. 15.

Agape Golf Classic -Fiday, October 16th, 2009
This years event will be held October 16th, 2009 at the challenging and picturesque Woodlands Golf Course in Windsor Mill, MD. The Agape Golf Classic is limited to the first 144 paid players and we are expecting a sell out!
Registration begins at 8:30 am, with tee-off at 10 am.
The cost for this event is only $125. This price includes entry into all events, 18 holes of golf, riding cart, range balls, breakfast, lunch, dinner, various awards and more. Mulligans can be purchased for a small donation the day of the tournament. Players of all abilities are welcome. Individuals, twosomes and foursomes are all welcome. Awards will be given to 1st place, last place, closest to the pin, longest putt and longest drive. All players will receive a Golfers Survival Kit before they are sent out.

Michael Letzig shoots 7-under
He has certainly been consistent — in a good way, no less — by making the cut in 19 of the 20 PGA Tour events in which he's played.
But all of those regular paychecks have him only 89th on the Tour's money list, only four spots higher than he finished last year when he ended up 93rd.
